Access practice test - results

We had a lot to cover today given that there were a whole load of new techniques required by the integrated project. I sincerely hope that mental overload and tight timing are the are the reasons why the practice test scores were so low today. The class average was 67%, which, as you are all aware, is a D in the grading rubric.

Don't get lazy now! Remember: the semester is not over until the finals are taken and all coursework is graded!

On the upside, two students managed perfect scores.

Excel exam - results

The exam results today were a bit of a mixed bag. Some students did really well, with one student earning full credit - kudos. A good handful of people fell into the mid-range and a couple of people had some major issues. Please do not panic about this one exam. I am fully aware of the technical problems and I will take them into consideration during my final grading process.

Word/PowerPoint exam - results

Good news: everyone passed this test! The class average for the Word/PowerPoint exam was 91.1%. One student had a perfect score, nearly half the class earned As, and the lowest grade was a 79.2. It was my observation that the students who did not take the practice test on their own tended to score lowest on this exam. Be sure to avoid this mistake on the Excel and Access exams.

Lecture #1 exam - results

Quiz #2 - results

The class average from today's quiz is 68.3%. Five students earned full credit. While average is higher than last week's quiz and more students scored 100%, more students failed; there is still considerable room for improvement before your lecture exam on October 4th.

Quiz #1 - results

The results from today's quiz were truly a mixed bag with the class average coming in at 59.9%. One student earned full credit and one student earned none. Given that this was an unannounced quiz, I did not expect stellar performance but this is a failing average. Please take this as an incentive to study diligently over the course of the semester and not attempt to cram the evenings prior to exams.
